2021 Artist in Residence, Mahedi Anjuman, installed a bell on the ground floor that she made from objects in our collection. Visitors are invited to stop and listen to the bell’s long ring as a way of clearing their minds and preparing them to be open to exploring the museum. Visit Mahedi’s Project Page and Bio.

Enhance your travel experience: Buy Black

Consider purchasing scents from Luxe Fragrance Bar (Greensboro, NC). A&T State University graduate, Jazz Elyse, is the creator of the LUXE FRAGRANCE Bar brand. LUXE not only a product, but a service as well. We allow our clients to personalize their products by scent, texture, purpose, and/or concern and prepare it on the spot!

Consider purchasing candles from Bright Black (Durham, NC). Tiffany, Daniel, and Elena are the family behind Bright Black. Their company uses scent as a medium and candles as a platform for sharing positive narratives about Blackness.
