1st Saturday Tour: Tiny Openings

TTiny Openings is a curated tour featuring the small openings, portals and places to peek into at Elsewhere. This tour finds its inspiration in the small spaces that easily occupy a child’s imagination.

After 20 years, Elsewhere reinvents itself and returns to its beginnings. After months of reimagining our foot and handprint on the world, we take this moment to reflect creatively and invite our audience and supporters to re-enter Elsewhere as a little child again and again.

Tours are limited to 15 patrons. Reserve here.

Tiny Openings Exhibit

Tiny Openings is a curated tour by theater artist and Elsewhere Executive Director, Kerri Mubaarak. Kerri draws from her resources and sensibilites as a theater director to reintroduce Elsewhere’s audience to its art and space.

Tiny Openings is inspired by the tiny spaces we imagine or easily occupy while we are children and the knooks and knolls that artists find to make their artistic mark while in residence. As Elsewhere returns and gradually opens its doors again, we invite our audience to enter this ever-evolving creative space for the first time or again with the wonder of a little child.

Be a part of the Tiny Openings exhibit from dusk to 10:50 pm or schedule a tour to see the works of art in this exhibit on Saturday, August 5th at 2 and 4 pm.

The VIbe

The VIbe

The Vibe is a jam session for poets, writers, musicians, vocalists, and other artists, with or without formal training. This shift from performing to making, co-creating, and swapping ideas, using Elsewhere’s space and equipment.

The Vibe takes place on 3rd Tuesdays: 9/20, 10/18, 11/15

It is a BIPOC-autonomous, Black-led and centered learning space by design.

It is free, family-friendly, and the only space of its kind in downtown Greensboro. We hope “The Vibes” will eventually spring up everywhere.

Elsewhere demonstrates our commitment to community development by supporting artists and artist groups based in and around Greensboro and the region, especially BIPOC and queer artists, leveraging its building, programs, finances, and audiences for this support.

The Vibe was created by local rapper and organizer, Chacyn Sparxx, and Elsewhere Managing Director, April Parker, in 2021. It came from a conversation about how Elsewhere was going to be intentional about cultivating Blackness in its space and through its programming.
