StoryBank | Nick Szuberla

This spring, Elsewhere launches StoryBank--an storytelling platform in Elsewhere’s museum that collects stories from museum visitors, artists, neighbors, and our online community. For the launch, Elsewhere is working with Appalshop, a 40-yr old media and social justice organization based in Appalachia. Members of this media collective visit Greensboro in March for a special residency that will culminate in the activation of StoryBank through collaborations with new immigrants, nearby church members, people experiencing homelessness, and community organizers. Project collaborators include Appalshop and our downtown neighbors- The Beloved Community Center, Church World Service, the Interactive Resource Center, Elsewhere members, and friends like you. StoryBank and the Appalshop Residency is funded in part by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
