Don’t Forget | J. Eliza Wall
Joy Elisabeth Waldinger (Philadelphia PA) | June 2026
Found objects (fabric, gold leaf, broken globes, broom handle, paper, bowling ball bag, string, scrap wood).
A staff of the globe and a large poppy flower, bound together: a reminder that what happens anywhere happens to all of us. This piece holds space for Gaza, for a genocide that continues even as it drifts from public discourse and collective consciousness. The bowling ball carries that weight literally, its heaviness a stand-in for what we risk setting down when we look away. The work asks us not to forget, and not to let forgetting become something we do quietly, without noticing.
