Elsewhere has a long tradition of Friday Happenings to showcase the works created in our month-long residencies. On Friday, February 26th, 2021, Elsewhere hosted a Friday Happening that was the epic conclusion and celebration of our 6-month communal living experiment, Shelter Elsewhere, made for these COVID times. The closest precedent we found was the 2020 NBA Bubble at Disney World - this is just the DIY move-into-a-vacant-museum-that-is-a-former-thrift-store artist version of that.

The 2-hour Happening featured:

There Are Many Ways to Be A House: puppet video series by Thea Cohen (watch the full incredible video!)
COVID Confessatorium by Kinari from the Confessatorium (made by ‘08 alumnus Amber PB) - you can still submit your own confessions here any time.
Red Zone by Rae Red (living portraits can only be seen on a Kindle at the museum in the Red Zone)
Shift ^6: disco in a broken air conditioner (images coming soon)
Dodecarama: a 12-sided mural by Christian Lee Villanueva
Visible Mending by Avery Rose
STUFFED: A Puppet Porno by Thea Cohen and Rae Red (can only be watched at the museum - it is in a locked box in the library!)
