2021 National Day of Mourning

As many in the United States take this day to give thanks and gratitude, this is also a day to mourn and reflect on the history of the attempted eradication of countless Indigenous people and nations on these lands. As a historically white institution, we have struggled with what to do or say on occasions such as these. Therefore, we have the following ask for you:

  1. Please donate to the list of organizations that support and advocate for the indigenous communities in the local, and regional areas of Greensboro. (Listed below.)

  2. Share with us your story, your experiences, and your vision of what an art institution supporting a community looks like to you. Please either share in the comments or DM us. We are doing our homework, but it also seems just to create space for the community to tell us in their voice what they need.

We are grateful to you…ALL of you, who have contributed even the smallest support and we hope to be doing a service that helps everyone. We give a special thank you to the following people and organizations who contributed to this effort and advocacy.
